Robert Davi talks to SideshowToy about his new 12" figure and his time as a Bond villain

09-Aug-2003 • Bond News

Sideshow Toy, creators of the exclusive 12" James Bond figure series, have interviewed Robert Davi about his time as villain Franz Sanchez, and how it feels to be part of the series.

Q. What are your thoughts about being a Bond Villain?
A. To have met and worked with one of the all time greats, Albert R. Broccoli, and to be a part of the ggggrrrrrreeatest series of films of all time. We`re talking 40 years. Its BOND and the (ROLLING) STONES. Most everyone in our business and outside have all wanted to be Bond or a Baddie. I approached the role reading all of what Ian Fleming had said about Bond and the Villain.

Q. What do you think of the Sanchez / Davi collectible figure?
A. My friend Arthur Sarkissian`s assistant was the first to tell me a figure was being done, then a writer friend and some fans who have become close friends (Bud and Janelle). They sent one to me and I must say I was pretty jazzed. It was great, it even correctly got my six pack (lots of stomach crunches).
