South Korean skater sets a world record with her 007-inspired routine
South Korea's Kim Yu-na set a world record for a short program Saturday night at Skate America, breaking her own mark with 76.28 points.
The world champion already held the record at 76.12, and as her coach, Brian Orser, said, "winning is what matters." She won so easily that Kim could go through the motions in Sunday's free skate and probably take the title -
AP reports.
American Rachael Flatt was second with 58.80 points, followed by Hungary's Julia Sebestyen with 58.54.
Kim thrilled the crowd that began buzzing during her warmups and the fans erupted in a loud standing ovation when she finished toying with the field.
Skating to a James Bond medley, Queen Kim was on-target from her first jump to her last spin.
