Eva Green admits she hates auditions

03-Dec-2009 • Actor News

Eva Green hates auditioning for movie roles - reports ShowbizSpy.

The actress — who played Vesper Lynd in the James Bond film Casino Royale — says casting directors are “brutal” and often belittle the skills of actresses when they try out for parts.

“There’s always something wrong,” Green, 29, told British newspaper The Independent. “They’re brutal, it’s a jungle. It’s as if you’re a facade, like a model who can’t act.

“When I’m prepping and really working on it, I’m freaking out — that I’m not going to measure up, it’s not going to work. That I’m going to look so bland, and I have no idea what the director wants. I freak out completely.”

Eva revealed earlier this year that she no longer Googles herself after she was directed to an online discussion about her nipples.

“It was when The Dreamers [2003] came out and I Googled myself. My ego drove me to it. It was an insane thing to do. Then I saw that weird discussion and decided never to do it again,” she said.

“People can get very mean. They get angry even if it’s just a dress you wore that they didn’t like.

“It’s actually quite masochistic to google yourself because you know that not everyone is going to like you. Or your nipples.”
