Aston Martin introduces Carbon Black special edition DBS

In an attempt to make James Bond's choice of wheels even sexier and stealthier than it already is, Aston Martin has introduced a Carbon Black makeover package for its popular DBS and V12 Vantage - reports Driving.ca.

The top-of-the-line sports cars will undergo more than 50 man-hours of painting each with a bespoke Carbon Black metallic paint that will have a hot new matte finish.

The iconic Aston Martin side strake in the V12 Vantage will be made with carbon fibre and backed by black mesh. Continuing the midnight theme, the Vantage will sit on gloss black, 10-spoke, diamond-tuned alloy wheels.

The theme is carried on inside with Obsidian Black leather seats that will feature contrast silver hand-stitching. These seats will be made from carbon fibre and Kevlar, which shaves 17 kilograms off the weight of the standard seats. Piano black trim will be used throughout the cabin and the V12 Vantage and DBS will be outfitted with the powerful Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system.

European buyers of the Carbon Black special editions will receive a complimentary track day and driving lessons at Aston Martin's Performance Driving Course, which the English automaker says will help "customers to equip themselves with the skill sets to enhance the enjoyment of their Aston Martin on the track."

Aston Martin hasn't released any information on how many of these special edition vehicles will be made, but it says pricing will be about 5% more than current base prices. Pricing will be confirmed in early 2010.
