Sir Roger Moore to receive German DIVA Lifetime Achievement award

The screen-lengend Sir Roger Moore will be honored with a DIVA Lifetime Achievement award this month. Sir Roger will be honored at the 20th DIVA Award Ceremony on 26th January 2010 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.

Sir Roger Moore is best remembered for his role as Secret Agent James Bond in the '70s and '80s, playing 007 a total of seven times. Among his other film highlights is disaster-drama "Gold" (1974), the war film "The Wild Geese" (1978) and "The Seawolf" (1980). One of his earliest on-screen successes and most brilliant parts, was in the 1970 psychological thriller "The Man Who Haunted Himself".

Sir Roger Moore is also the current UNICEF ambassador and front-man for the animal rights group PETA.

Former recipients of this honor include Christopher Lee, Lauren Bacall, Liv Ullmann, Vanessa Redgrave, Ursula Andress, Sir Peter Ustinov, Maximilan Schell, and Alain Delon.
