Pierce Brosnan has begun writing his memoirs

27-Feb-2010 • Actor News

Pierce Brosnan is currently attached to the Roman Polanski thriller, "The Ghost Writer" and in a press call for the film was quizzed about his own autobiographical plans.

In the film, Brosnan plays a disgraced former British prime minister living in America after being accused of war crimes across the pond. Ewan McGregor is the ghost writer hired to pen the prime minister’s memoirs and discovers he’s taken on a bit more than he can chew. Brosnan himself, who has had his share of tabloid stories and unauthorized biographies fall at his doorstep, tells Hollywood Breakout he is considering writing a memoir of his own.

In a brief audio-clip online at Hollywood Breakout, Brosnan explains, "there have been a few articles and books an pieces without my consent that have been written.

So I have started in the last few years, ruminating on who I am, where I've been, what I've done. Some tapestry of a life lived and yeah, there's headings, I started with a few headings. Some of them are haikus of time and some of them have got a chapter, maybe. [Laughs]

I don't know - I'll stitch something together."

Will you hire a ghost writer?

"Oh I think it'll be my good wife, she's a fine writer and no, I hadn't thought about having a ghost writer. But I certainly have been, having come down the road 50 or 60 years, you kind of ruminate on life, especially when you get asked the question time and time again. You've lived a bit of time..."
