Sir Sean Connery refused his 007 number
According to the
Daily Record, Sir Sean Connery was snubbed by a real life 007 this week.
Officials of the Royal Scots Club planned to enrol the movie great as member 007 when they presented him with an honorar, lifetime membership.
But the real-life club member 007 - a war veteran living in Glasgow - refused to give up the number. And an appeal to member 0007 to give up his number also fell on stony ground.
Last week, the association - who bring together soldiers of the Royal Scots Regiment - were forced to induct Sir Sean as member 1127.
But the star laughed off the rebuff as he met veterans and troops currently serving with the regiment and said he was "absolutely delighted" to join the ranks of the Edinburgh-based club.
Sir Sean had been picked for the honour after he donated £1000 to help veterans travel to Holland to visit the graves of fallen comrades.
