French Film Commission promotes Versaille as possible Bond 23 location
The French Film Commision hopes that the Palace of Versailles could soon become a location for the 23rd James Bond film, reports
L'Express.
A pursuit in the castle park, rowing duel on the Grand Canal, escape by helicopter from the roofs of the palace... Such are the few scenes imagined by the Film Commission of Ile-de-France to convince EON Productions to make part of the next James Bond in Versailles.
Supported by the municipality, the castle, but also the direction of the Hotel Trianon Palace, this public institution responsible for cultural cooperation is hoping to land 007 in the city of kings during filming in 2011. Such a scenario would allow James Bond back on the Old Continent and would, in passing, rejuvenate the image of Versailles.
