Further details about Sir Sean Connery's new animated film 'Sir Billi'
Sir Sean Connery turns from secret agent to kilted, skateboarding pensioner in a new animated movie. He makes a comeback in Sir Billi as the voice of the title character, a retired Highland vet, reports
The Scotsman.
Sir Sean is acting as executive producer on Scotlandâs first full-length CGI movie, and plays his first-ever animated voice-over role.
Sascha Hartmann is directing Sir Billi from a screenplay written by his wife Tessa.
Singer Dame Shirley Bassey also joined the project to perform the title track Guardian of the Highlands. It marks the first time Connery and she have worked together since the 1965 James Bond film Goldfinger.
Others lending their voices are Alan Cumming, Alex Norton, Ford Kiernan and Ruby Wax.
It sees Sir Billi attempting to save a fugitive beaver from powerful lairds. Sir Sean said: âSir Billi is a first-class film, with an exceptional cast, and is sure to delight audiences of all ages.â
It is set to be released this year.
