Sir Roger Moore to attend Royal reception for Films Without Borders

The Earl of Wessex will help launch an ambitious initiative that aims to give teenagers in Israel, Palestine and Rwanda the opportunity to learn film-making.

Films Without Borders (FWB) will help aspiring directors aged 15 to 18, who do not readily have access to equipment or industry professionals, experience all aspects of movie creation.

Organisers of the project say it will bring together young people, break down barriers and boost the confidence of participants as they hone their skills in workshops.

Edward will host a Buckingham Palace reception and dinner for FWB supporters, who will be joined by three young film-makers picked from the three states.

Star Wars director George Lucas, former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore and Four Weddings And A Funeral director Mike Newell are expected to attend the event.

Edward is a trustee of the International Award Association - the foreign arm of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award - which is working in partnership with FWB.

Youngsters will be able to join the movie project, which will count towards the "skill" element of the Award scheme.
