Espionage film series in New Jersey to include 'From Russia With Love'

The Union Public Library will screen four Hollywood films dealing with espionage, sabotage, and code breaking as part of a series commencing Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. The movies will be presented at 2 p.m. every Tuesday, running through Jan. 25. The public is invited to this admission-free event, reports

âTriple Cross,â starring Christopher Plummer and Yul Brynner, opens the series on Jan. 4. This is the true story of Eddie Chapman, a notorious British safecracker who turned double agent during World War II. Alfred Hitchcockâs âSaboteurâ starring Robert Cummings and Priscilla, will be screened on Jan. 11. âFrom Russia With Love,â starring Sean Connery and Robert Shaw, will be featured on Jan. 18. In this film, James Bond searches Istanbul for a stolen Russian decoding. âThe Windtalkers,â starring Nicolas Cage and Mark Ruffalo, will conclude the series on Jan. 25. Windtalkers is the true story of Navaho code talkers during World War II, the Marinesâ new secret weapon.
