Bond villain Robert Davi singing a sinatra concert in Beverley Hills
Veteran Beverly Hills-based actor/director and now singer Robert Davi, backed by a 55-piece orchestra, will perform his show âDavi Sings Sinatra: A Tribute to Sinatra, the Great American Songbook, and America,â on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Center. Davi will bring to life his love letter to Sinatra and some of the most famous composers and lyricists.
âI believe Sinatra is the greatest singing genius we have ever produced, and his contribution to the lives of Italian-Americans for more than 60 years is beyond evaluation,â said Davi, who last year has gave three sold-out âSinatraâ performances in New York and Washington.
Davi recorded his first album at Capitol Records building in Holly-wood. It is called album Davi Sings Sinatra - On The Road To Romance and will be released in the late spring.
The 57-year old actor made his acting debut in Contract On Cherry Street in 1977, appearing in the TV film with none other than Sinatra.
Since then, he's continued to work with the biggest of Hollywood namesâMarlon Brando, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Benicio Del Toro, James Franco, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Bruce Willisâin such movies as The Goonies, Die Hard, Showgirls, Son Of The Pink Panther, and License To Kill âhis part being declared as one of the three top James Bond villains of all time. In addition, he has been a regular in a half dozen TV series from L.A. Law to The Pretender.
He recently made his directorial debut in a movie called The Dukes, which has alreadywon praises and prizes at film festivals.
