Jonathan Glickman named MGM production chief
MGM co-chairmen and CEOs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum have brought over 12-year Spyglass president Jonathan Glickman as new prexy of MGMâs Motion Picture Group, reports
IndieWire.
New MGM production chief Glickman âcanât wait to get started,â he says. Glickmanâs Spyglass productions include Four Christmases, 27 Dresses, Hitchhikerâs Guide to the Galaxy, The Pacifier, The Count of Monte Cristo and Shanghai Noon and the Paramount co-production G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Star Trek and Get Him to the Greek. He was exec producer of No Strings Attached (Paramount/Spyglass) and is currently producing The Vow, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.
Glickman replaces Mary Parent, who left the studio last fall after being stymied by the studioâs financial quagmire. She left in the studio pipeline Sony co-production Zookeeper starring Kevin James (July), and undated horror flick Cabin in the Woods and a remake of Red Dawn. Barber and Birnbaum have already put back into production two delayed projects: Peter Jacksonâs The Hobbit, partnering with Warner Bros., and the 23rd James Bond film, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig (November 9, 2012).
