Pierce Brosnan weighs in on the Clive Owen next Bond saga - `he is just gonna have to wait!`

Pierce Brosnan has weighed in on the recent "is he" "isn`t he" debate surrounding Clive Owen and the next Bond, to hopefully put an end to the speculation.

Today Channel 4 News (UK) have quoted Brosnan on his thoughts on the issue:

"Sure, he could do it standing on his head if he wants to, but he`s just gonna have to wait!"

Owen went on the record earlier in the week to deny press rumours that he was already lined up to take over from Brosnan after Bond 21:

"It`s just continued speculation," an exasperated Owen said with a sigh last weekend. "Me becoming the next Bond has become so common that when I read the rumors I even shake my head."

Pierce Brosnan will be playing 007 in Bond 21. Shooting is due to start in January 2005 for a November 2005 release.
