Bond composer David Arnold to give an exclusive seminar in Glasgow, Scotland

23-Oct-2003 • Event

David Arnold, the composer of some of the world`s most popular film music - including the recent Bond movie scores - is to give an exclusive seminar at this year`s MusicWorks Convention on Friday 31 October offering a rare and fascinating insight into his extensive work.

David Arnold is the Bond series` resident composer and has written scores including Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, the acclaimed Madonna collaboration Die Another Day, as well as huge global box office hits such as Independence Day, Stargate, Godzilla and Changing Lanes.
David has also collaborated with artists such as Bjork (for the film Young Americans) and Moby, and has produced the Shaken and Stirred album of updated Bond tracks, with some of today`s most innovative artists including David McAlmont, Aimee Mann, Leftfield, Pulp, Chrissie Hynde, Propellerheads, and Iggy Pop.

The seminar is a must for anyone who is interested in creating music for film and television and will give all MusicWorks delegates a rare and fascinating insight into the process of film score composition, his tips on getting into the film business and first hand anecdotes about the hugely successful films he has worked on.

David Arnold first came to the attention of the public through his work on Stargate and Independence Day, which were hugely successful box-office hits. David was then asked to take over the mantle of resident Bond composer from John Barry where he took the essential elements of Bond and updated them for the 90s onwards.

This event on Friday 31 October is one of over 30 seminars programmed for this year`s MusicWorks, The International Cross-Media Convention at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Glasgow.
