NBC publish article about MGM `s stance on Bond sites

21-Aug-2002 • Bond News

NBC have published an article about the current legal wranglings between movie house MGM and unofficial Bond sites - which has caused some of the biggest fan sites to be closed.

It features a quote from Peter Adee, MGM`s president of marketing, about the current situation with unofficial coverage of Bond on the web.

"We`re not punishing the fans. We`re protecting the fans," Peter Adee, MGM`s president of marketing told The Scoop. "The most enjoyable way for them to find out about the movie is from the movie itself."

Why not just make the sites remove the script? "When you cross the line like that, we can`t just say stop, don`t do this. They`ve gone too far. They`re in our trademark... We can`t let them think we condone this sort of behavior."
