'King's Speech' editor Tariq Anwar linked to Bond 23 production
The New Delhi-born film editor, Tariq Anwar, has worked twice with forthcoming Bond 23 director Sam Mendes.
In a recent interview with
The Indian Telegraph, Anwar freely offered up the information that Mendes offered him the job on the 23rd James Bond adventure:
"Sam Mendes asked me if I would be interested in doing Bond. That would be something different," the editor is quoted to say.
When pressed for more information Anwar replied unambiguously: "I will do Bond."
Anwar and Mendes first worked together on the director's big screen debut, "American Beauty" and Mendes called Anwar back for the more recent "Revolutionary Road". Between Mendes pictures, the editor worked on a series of successful flicks, including "The Good Shepherd" and Clive Owen's "Greenfingers". His work on "The King's Speech" was nominated for an Oscar.
