Special event to celebrate 40th anniversary of Roger Moore's The Persuaders!
To mark the 40th anniversary of cult series The Persuaders! a special event is to be hosted by Network DVD with Sir Roger Moore in attendance. There is also to be an HD restoration of all 24 episodes for a Blu-ray release.
The event entitled The Time and The Place will be held on September 10th 2011 at Kent House in Knightsbridge. The evening will consist of a food and drinks reception, a screening of two episodes picked by Roger Moore and and question and answer session. There is also a chance to see the original Aston Martin as seen in the series.
The Persuaders! was an ITC production for ATV Network and broadcast in the UK on ITV. It followed Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis) and Lord Brett Sinclair (Roger Moore) as two millionaire playboys â one a self-made man who battled his way out of the New York slums and the other a peer of the realm, born into money â who are duped by a retired judge into righting wrongs in a series that combines action, style, humour and panache in equal measures.
Originally broadcast between 1970 and 1971, and filmed on location at Pinewood and Monaco, the series stars two Hollywood legends as the mismatched playboys with an eye for the ladies and a knack for landing themselves in compromising situations! The show also features one of televisionâs most memorable theme tunes from John Barry plus scripts from Brian Clemens and Terry Nation.
The Blu-ray release, of eight discs, will also contain some new special features and is due on sale from the 19th September, RRP £79.99. All tickets for The Time and The Place event are available exclusively from www.networkdvd.co.uk
