Duntrune Castle scrapped as 'Skyfall' Scottish shooting location

17-Nov-2011 • Skyfall

Owner Robin Malcolm has spoken to the press yet again to report that the production team behind James Bond 23 Skyfall are making other arrangements and will not used the castle for 007's visit to Scotland this time around.

Around 200 cast and crew were expected to descend on the castle in February for filming.

Malcolm told STV: "I particularly feel sorry for hoteliers and tradesmen in the area who were looking forward to a prosperous New Year. For myself I am very sorry I won't see Judi Dench.

"For the past three months they have been sending people up here in increasing numbers to look around. Last time we had 50 people having lunch in our kitchen."

"I think they would like to keep a Scottish dimension in the film, but where they do that is up to them."

The news that "Skyfall" would shoot at Duntrune has been in and out of the news as the film geared up for production. Perhaps the high level of exposure that the locale was getting thanks to the media and talkative locals was a factor in the last-minute decision to re-scout for the film.

Thanks to `danslittlefinger` for the alert.
