Long-time James Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who penned the first treatment for Bond 25, are back on 007 duty.
The duo, who have worked on the franchise since their first script 'The World Is Not Enough,' turned in a script that was approved by the producers and studio before Danny Boyle was signed. With Boyle aboard, he brought in his regular writing partner John Hodge to re-work the script. When Boyle split from Bond 25, Hodge also departed.
Reliable tabloid tipster Baz Bamigboye confirmed last night that Purvis and Wade are re-visiting their script.
"The Purvis and Wade treatment they wrote earlier was already signed off before the bromance with Danny Boyle and John Hodge began," a Hollywood executive close to the production explained.
Bamigboye also confirmed that producer Barbara Broccoli is in Los Angeles meeting with potential directors.
As MI6 reported earlier in the week, the Bond 25 pre-production schedule remains unchanged.
