Ralph Fiennes was a guest on Lorraine Kelly's chat show on ITV last week to promote his new film 'The White Crow,' which he also directed and produced.
Asked for some details about his next film - the 25th James Bond adventure - Fiennes said: "I know we’re shooting this year. I can’t tell you... I’m genuinely not being coy. I have not read a script and I don’t have a start date. I know that Daniel is playing Bond and I’m looking forward to starting I think sometime in May or June."
Principal photography for Bond 25 is still scheduled for April 5th. Scenes with M and the MI6 crew could be shot at any point in the long schedule, so Fiennes mentioning May or June as the start of his involvement should not be taken as any sign of further delay.
Fiennes also confirms that years ago he did talk to Barbara Broccoli and her father Cubby about the role of James Bond - "briefly." But it didn't work out and Pierce Brosnan got the role. "On reflection, I'm happy playing M."
