With Daniel Craig 'just about persuaded' to return for a fifth outing as 007, it seems that Bond 25 will have a different director.
Sam Mendes, who helmed the last two adventures - Skykfall and SPECTRE - is getting ready for his next film project that would rule him out of coming back for a third stint.
According to Deadline, Mendes is in early talks to direct 'My Favorite Thing Is Monsters', the critically lauded graphic novel by Emil Ferris that Sony Pictures won in a bidding battle last week. The graphic novel already is getting critical raves for its originality and artistic flourishes.
The interesting subtext to this news is that Sony, who along with MGM were trying to reign in an out of control budget with Mendes on SPECTRE, are willing to roll the dice on another project. Mendes joked at the press launch of SPECTRE that Pinewood Studios is 'where budgets go to die.'
