Tabloids rumours swirl on No To Time Die title song artist

22-Nov-2019 • No Time To Die

It is usually the last piece of the puzzle to be unveiled before the next James Bond film opens in cinemas, and 'No Time To Die' is no exception. The world is still awaiting news on who the title song artist will be.  Nature abhors a vacuum,  and so the tabloids have been trying to fill in with their rumours.

The Express are claiming that rock band Queen stand a good chance to land the gig despite their lead singer Freddie Mercury passing away in 1991. The band's popularity saw a resurgence in the past year due to the Oscar-winning biopic Bohemian Rhapsody where Mercury was played by 'No Time To Die's villain Rami Malek. Queen guitarist Brian May told The Star that he felt they missed out on 007. "They should’ve given us a shot at the Bond theme ages ago," he said.

Ed Sheeran continues to lead the bookmaker's odds at 3-1 favourite.

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has thrown his hat in the ring. "The new James Bond one, it’s all about dying, innit?” Gallagher mused, before spinning a few potential lyrics on the spot. "Die not next week, can’t be arsed dying today, might die fucking next month, there’s a lot of death going on." “But, you know, they can give us a call. Why not?” he said.

British singer-songwriter Tom Walker also joined the list of artists wanting a piece of the action. Walker said writing and performing the song “would be a dream come true”, adding: “That would be so sick. Skyfall by Adele is my absolute favourite,” he continued. “If they asked me to do it, I’d be in the studio until it was done. I wouldn’t even leave for days on end, making sure it was right. It would be 30-piece string orchestras. It would be epic to do that,” the Scottish-born singer continued. “So yeah, if they invited me to do that then I would give it my all. I don’t really know how it works,” he laughed. “I’m assuming there’s some kind of underground, James Bond tune-finding clubs.”

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports claim that Dan Romer has been dropped as composer on 'No Time To Die', although he was never officially confirmed as working on the production.
