Tabloids tout 007's 'death' as reason for Danny Boyle's split from Bond 25

In the quiet corners of Bond fandom, sparsely populated by those who have been with the franchise for decades, there has been the odd whisper that producers may want to cap off Daniel Craig's tenure with a definitive end for his 007 arc (and rewarding the actor with a scene that nobody would have ever expected) before retiring and selling off the franchise for someone else to reboot.
Now, tabloids are pushing the idea that the death of James Bond is the factor that split Danny Boyle from directing Bond 25.
The Sun writes: "Daniel Craig, who is said to be filming his final 007 movie, and producer Barbara Broccoli are believed to have wanted to Bond to die in a “spectacular finale”, according to sources. But Oscar-winner Boyle, 61, refused to kill off the secret agent, labelling the idea “ridiculous." And insider said: “There were discussions about killing off Bond in dramatic fashion at the end."
The unfounded rumour has now been circulated amongst the other tabloids.
The report in The Sun goes on to say: "There were clashes over budget and there’s pandemonium among crew with people leaving the production left, right and centre. There are fears the film will be put back months and backroom staff are worried about where their next pay cheque is coming from."
