Pleased To Meet You
James Bond and Miss Moneypenny share an ongoing and feisty office-bound relationship. Whilst it is unknown exactly when the pair first met (they appear comfortable with each other prior to the "Dr No" mission and 007's infamy, at least, is known to 'Penny when they meet at the commencement of the "GoldenEye" affair) they frequently cross paths as a result of their respective duties. In recent times it has become 'Penny's job to keep an eye on Bond. |
Personality
An able and efficient P.A. to the head of MI6, Miss Moneypenny has a high level of security clearance and is known to be responsible and a willing confidant to the incumbent "M". Little is known about her personal affairs but 'Penny's dedication to her job and the demanding hours indicate romance is in limited supply. As such, she takes pride in keeping pace with Bond's sharp witticisms, and exchanging sexually charged quips with the 00-agent. At times, Miss Moneypenny exhibits some jealousy over James Bond's numerous conquests, especially when she is brought simple and childish gifts.
"I know you'll find this crushing, 007, but I don't sit at home every night praying for some international incident so I can run down here all dressed up to impress James Bond."

Involvement
GoldenEye - Moneypenny is called into work late
when news of the GoldenEye blast breaks at headquarters. Wearing
a slick black evening dress, the secretary jokes with 007 that
she
does not wait around MI6 for a national emergency so as
to charm her office-admirers (Bond included). Later 'Penny liaises
with Bond when he is on assignment in Monaco,
receiving 007's in-the-field photos.
Tomorrow Never Dies - The secretary is tasked with rousing 007 from his Danish lesson in Oxford. When "M" inquires as to the nature of Bond's business in Oxford Moneypenny opts for a Don't Ask Don't Tell policy. In the on-the-road briefing, 'Penny teases Bond when "M" asks the 00 to pump his old flame, Mrs Paris Carver, for information.
"You always were a cunning linguist, James."

The World Is Not Enough - Bond
brings the able-bodied secretary a token from Spain -
a cigar case. 'Penny quips that she knows exactly where to put
it, tossing it in the bin. Later, Moneypenny is in the field
with her boss when "M" journeys to the Scottish branch
of the secret service aft Sir Robert King's funeral. Here she
is part of the team that prepares briefing materials for the
00 department when they are tasked with hunting the terrorist Renard.
Bond, in order to get on the active duty roster, seduces the
good Dr Warmflash, much
to Moneypenny's dismay.
Die Another Day - there is little role for 'Penny on the "Die Another Day" mission. When she does appear it is in 007's virtual reality training system. In the training scenario, "M" is kidnapped and Moneypenny assassinated. Once the mission is completed, the secretary gets her chance to interact with Bond, albeit in VR... The pair share a romantic interlude in the office, but this is cut short by the new Quartermaster.
