Quantum of Solace Premiere Preview
29th October 2008
As the hype to the 22nd James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" builds,
so do the lines of fans waiting in Leicester Square to secure
a prime spot for the world premiere tonight. Huge crowds were
expected
for the world premiere, and the security teams were not disappointed
as hundreds of fans formed lines
around the square before noon. The premiere kicks off at 6pm.
Princes William and Harry will meet stars of the new 007 film
as they attend their first royal premiere. The Princes asked
for the event to help support two charities, the Royal British
Legion and Help for Heroes.
A spokesman for Colombia Pictures said: "Michael
G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the latest
James Bond film Quantum Of Solace, have announced that
Prince William and Prince Harry have graciously agreed
to attend the world premiere. At the request of Prince
William and Prince Harry, the event will benefit two charities,
Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion."
On the red carpet will be James Bond actor Daniel Craig
and cast members Olga Kurylenko, Gemma Arterton, Dame
Judi Dench, Mathieu Amalric and producers Micahel G.
Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
The A-list celebrities will have to share the lime light
with another star of the film - the Aston Martin DBS.
It will take prime position in the centre of Leicester
Square and act as the backdrop to pre-premiere television
coverage.
Jack White will tread the red carpet to promote his
theme song "Another Way To Die". White won’t
have to worry about the soundtrack for the premiere -
that will be taken care of by the electronic string quartet
Escala.

As well as the cast and crew and 007 alumni, the premiere audience
will be joined by 200 invited servicemen, veterans and their
families. The British Legion was set up to protect the interests,
welfare and memory of people who have served in the Armed Forces.
Help for Heroes was launched last year to help wounded servicemen.
The "Quantum of Solace" world premiere will use joint
venues at the Odeon and Empire theatres. Shortly afterwards,
the first public screening will open after 8pm as part of the
London Film Festival.
