The Times of India carried the following quote from an 'industry insider': "It's at a nascent stage. Everything is being kept under wraps now. Permissions are being sought from the ministry. There have been talks about location scouting down the Konkan Railway line. If all goes well, the shoot might begin end of this year."
The Konkan Railway runs along the coast of India from Mangalore in Karnataka to Mumbai in Maharashtra through Goa, along to Western Ghats.
The hostile terrain and difficult weather conditions of the Konkan region has resulted in dozens of deaths from train accidents along the line.
India has been rumoured as a possible location since pre-production started on "Die Another Day" in 2001.
Back in the latter half of 1982, "Octopussy" filmed in India over a three week period, and based their production in Udaipur. The locales gave the film a unique feel, and the film still plays daily in the city to tourists visiting the sights made famous by Roger Moore's penultimate outing as 007. |
