Bond at 60
In 1962, Sean Connery exploded on to the screen as James Bond 007. The film, 'Dr. No', was made with just a skeleton budget ($1m) under close scrutiny of the studio financing the film, United Artists. But producers Albert R. 'Cubby' Broccoli and Harry Saltzman were quietly confident they had a hit on their hands. Editing from Peter Hunt made 'Dr. No' an edgier and more pacey adventure than spy stories and everything from the stunning production design to the bombastic Bond theme made an impact.
