Aston Martin name new car, rumours of Bond 25 appearance

Aston Martin today unveiled their new £1.5m hypercar - 'Valhalla' - and the media jumped to speculate that it will feature in the 25th James Bond film.
The new model will be powered by a turbocharged V6 petrol engine linked to a battery-electric hybrid system and its highly efficient high output combination is expected to develop 1,000bhp and 0-62mph in under 3 seconds.
Only 500 cars will be made with an expected £1.5million asking price.
According to the Daily Mail, the new car is expected to be confirmed as starring in Bond 25 later this week. If true, it would confirm long-running rumours that the film would include an electric or hybrid car.
Aston Martin did not confirm this, although the chief executive of the company, Andy Palmer, re-tweeted the tabloid coverage that made the Bond 25 claims.
Aston Martin said: 'Employing lightweight construction methods and radical aerodynamics pioneered in Valkyrie, Valhalla will be propelled by a combination of high-efficiency, high-output turbocharged V6 petrol engine and battery-electric hybrid system. Named after the warrior's paradise celebrated in ancient Norse mythology, Valhalla follows Valkyrie on Aston Martin's journey into the highest echelons of road car performance. In continuing the fine tradition of Aston Martin "V" cars, Valhalla can trace its lineage back to 1951, when the Vantage designation was given to high performance variants of the then current model, the DB2. Though actual Vantage badging was never applied, the name stuck."
