Barbara Broccoli gives approval to Denis Villeneuve on Bond 26

Speaking on a recent episode of the "Kermode on Film" podcast, primarily to discuss her upcoming projects, she was asked about her reaction to Denis Villeneuve being tapped to direct Bond 26 by Amazon MGM Studios. Villeneuve had been under consideration by Broccoli & Wilson for Daniel Craig's fifth and final outing, but he moved ahead with 'Dune' instead.
“He’s a fantastic filmmaker, I’m thrilled he’s going to be doing it,” Broccoli said.
When asked if she would be “removed” or “hands on” with the next Bond movie, Broccoli deflected by saying: “You know, I did it for 44 years and I loved every minute of it, but I’m getting up there now and there’s a lot of things I want to do… I’m doing a lot of other things. I have other movies I want to make and other stage shows."
