EON Productions, headed by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, has entered into a deal to produce a new version of the 1968's children's musical film 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' for Amazon MGM.
Written by James Bond creator Ian Fleming for his son in the early 1960s (he died in 1964), the book was originally adapted into a screenplay by Roald Dahl, Ken Hughes, and Richard Maibaum and released in 1968.
According to trade reports, the film is in the early development stage and has yet to land a writer or director. It is understood that the film will be made for a theatrical release.
Along with Daniel Craig's 'Othello' film plans, Broadway productions and various other projects, Barbara Broccoli has added another project that could further delay any James Bond series reboot.
