Dame Judi Dench slams actors `cockeyed` Hollywood pay packets

03-Dec-2003 • Actor News

British acting legend Judi Dench, 68, is disgusted at the huge amount of money earned by up-and-coming Hollywood stars like Ben Affleck, report IMDB.

The Oscar-winning thespian, best known to Bond fans as "M", has been working on stage and screen for the best part of 50 years and thinks that the wages of silver screen stars are getting out of control.

And when the Shakespeare In Love veteran discovered that Affleck commanded a fee of $21.2 million-a-picture, she was horrified.

She fumes, "I mean, sorry, I`m not saying anything about Ben, who I think is a jolly good actor, but if people are going to demand that amount of money, then the whole thing is cockeyed."
