'Skyfall' breaks $300m in USA, becomes 11th biggest film of all time

The 23rd James Bond film 'Skyfall' broke the $300m mark at the US & Canadian box-office this weekend, after 70 days on release.

As of Sunday night (20th January 2013), weekend estimates put the 007 adventure's domestic haul at $300,937,000 - nearly double that of "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace". "Skyfall" is now the 41st highest grossing film at the US box-office of all time.

With its screen count now cut to 507, and a Friday estimated take of $260,000, it probably has just a couple of weeks left to run before Sony Pictures pulls it from distribution. As the Blu-Ray and DVD is coming out on February 18th, there will just be days between its last screening and it hitting store shelves.

Globally, the film has taken $1,034,437,000, which ranks it as the 11th highest grossing film ever at the worldwide box-office.

With a good run in China, which opens nationwide on Monday, the total haul could easily grow to overtake "The Dark Knight Rises", which currently sits at #7 with $1,081m.
