Pierce Brosnan says he loves being married

Pierce Brosnan loves being married and is serious about the sanctity of marriage.

Brosnan, 50, considers himself a "lucky man" to be married to journalist Keely Shaye Smith and is deeply committed to making his three-year marriage work.

The Irish-born actor - who lost his first wife Cassandra Harris to ovarian cancer in 1991 - says, "I love being married. It gives me a sense of balance and security and I value that.

"To have love again at the age of 50 is blissful.

"I`m a lucky man. I believe marriage is about solving problems.

"I don`t hold with the idea that you get married then, if you decide that you don`t like your spouse after all, you can always get a divorce.

"I believe in being committed to a long-term relationship of day-to-day living."
