Sir Sean Connery backs `Whisky Galore` remake

20-Jul-2004 • Actor News

Sir Sean Connery is backing plans for a remake of the classic comedy film Whisky Galore, reports the Daily Record.

A film production company is now looking to attract investors for the 1949 tale of a madcap whisky-salvaging operation after a shipwreck off an imaginery isle.

It was based on an incident on the Hebridean isle of Eriskay.

The idea is the brainchild of Glasgow-based producer Ed Crozier who said: 'It's 55 years since the original was made. It's time for a remake. This is a film with a real feel-good emotion to it.'
