Original Goldfinger poster sells for £1,800
An auction house had a licence to make a lot of money when original publicity material from the Bond films went under the hammer, reports
Cambridge News.
A poster used to promote the movie Goldfinger fetched £1,800 at the Film Poster and Printed Cinema Ephemera auction at Rowley Fine Art in Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK.
Roddy Lloyd, managing director, said: "This poster was the biggest seller of the day."
He added: "We are delighted to have broken into this emerging niche market.
"The artwork is memorable, the images colourful and the posters evocative."
Goldfinger, which was released in 1964, starred Sean Connery as James Bond and Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore. The Goldfinger theme tune was made famous by Shirley Bassey.
Another Film Poster and Printed Cinema Ephemera auction is due to take place in December.
