James Bond car manufacturer Aston Martin plans big sales push
James Bond car-maker Aston Martin, now owned by Ford, plans to become profitable as it more than doubles annual sales to 5,000 vehicles in the next two years.
"A prestigious brand needs to make a profit," CEO Ulrich Bez said. The unit this year expects to sell 2,000 of its luxury sports cars, which cost at least $155,000, up from 235 in 2000.
Aston Martin is the smallest part of Premier Automotive Group, Ford's European luxury division that also includes Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo.
It's flagship car, the Aston Martin Vanquish, starred in the last film "Die Another Day", and the recent 007 based video game "Everything or Nothing".
