Rumours claim Time Warner have bought James Bond studio MGM - beating rivals Sony

10-Sep-2004 • Bond News

Rumours published on movie rumour sites Defamer and AICN are claiming that Time Warner have bought MGM. James Bond could well have a new owner, although reports detailing elements of both possible deals state that 007 films would continue to be made under the MGM logo.

Time Warner were tipped as favourites over rivals Sony to buy the studio, with earlier reports that an MGM decision was due within a week.

The website claims, "Spies are telling us that Time Warner officially purchased MGM today, with internal discussion of the incredibly complicated integration to start tomorrow."

Rumours of MGM's sale have been previously published by the Defamer site and have later proven untrue.
