Pierce Brosnan to receive Outstanding Irish Contribution to Cinema award from IFTA

Pierce Brosnan is to receive a special presentation at this year's Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs), reports RTE.

Brosnan, best known for his four outings as James Bond 007, will receive the award for Outstanding Irish Contribution to Cinema.



In a statement, Aine Moriaty, Chief Executive of the IFTAs, commented, "Pierce Brosnan has won millions of admirers in his movie roles and has done much for the Irish film industry through his Irish Dreamtime production company."

The Irish Film and Television Awards take place at The Burlington Hotel, Saturday 30th October and will be broadcast on RTÉ One on Monday 1 November.
