Michel Colombier, Die Another Day theme arranger, dies aged 65

26-Nov-2004 • Bond News

Michel Colombier, a prolific arranger and composer of ballets and soundtracks, has died aged 65. Most recently, he collaborated with the new generation of French pop musicians, notably Air and Mirwais, the latter leading to an introduction to Madonna.

He arranged the strings to accompany her theme to the James Bond film "Die Another Day" (2002), and worked on her most recent album, "American Life" (2003).

Colombier's prolific and increasingly well-respected writing across the musical spectrum was recognised by his appointment as Chevalier des Arts et de Lettres.

He made his home in Santa Monica, California, with his wife Dana and their three daughters, but had recently had cancer diagnosed. The two sons and a daughter of his previous marriages also survive him.

Michel Colombier, composer and arranger, was born on May 23, 1939. He died on November 14, 2004, aged 65.
