Pierce Brosnan`s new film `The Matador` to screen at Sundance film festival
Pierce Brosnan's next film is set to make it's debut at the Sundance film festival, which starts today - reports
ABS Interactive.
The festival reaches its dramatic climax on January 29 when juries pick top films, directors, writers and occasionally actors, who are singled out for special mention.
James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan heads comedy "The Matador," in which he plays a Speedo-wearing hit man.
Two producers behind "Matador," brothers Bryan and Sean Furst, are Sundance successes. This is their third film at the festival with each getting bigger stars and higher budgets.
"[Sundance] has marked a progression of things we've done that have scaled upward," said Bryan Furst.
Sundance 2004 box office hits like "Napoleon Dynamite" ($45 million) and "Open Water" ($51 million) bode well for this year's marketplace, film buyers and sellers said.
"From what I'm hearing, there's a pretty healthy appetite" among the buyers, said Bob Yari of Yari Film Group, who heads to Park City looking to sell "Matador" and another film, "Thumbsucker," about a guy addicted to his thumb.
Park City also turns into a big party. One novel concept this year is Chefdance, created by Kenny Griswold, in which 10 world class chefs make dinner for guests each night.
They won't compete, but "quietly, they all want to win best of show," Griswold said.
