24-Jan-2005 • Actor News

Miramax films is in final talks to pick up distribution rights to the Pierce Brosnan hitman film The Matador from CAA, reports Variety.

The deal was expected to close late Sunday night.

Written and directed by Richard Shepard, the film also stars Greg Kinnear, Hope Davis, Philip Baker Hall, Dylan Baker, Roberto Sosa, and Adam Scott.

The Matador centers on an unlikely friendship between an assassin (Brosnan) and a gullible suburban couple (Kinnear and Davis).

Miramax would take multiple territories on the project for roughly $7.5 million.
