Pierce Brosnan looking for an Indian chef for new Mailbu restaurant

22-Feb-2005 • Actor News

Pierce Brosnan likes it hot. The Irish-born Hollywood star asked for the air conditioner to be switched off three times at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Apollo Bunder. ‘‘Nobody told me Mumbai can get so cold. If they don’t switch off the AC, I might go to the mains and shut it myself,’’ he says.

The James Bond star spent the weekend in Mumbai as the brand ambassador of Omega watches. The 52-year-old actor plans to open an Indian restaurant with an American friend in Malibu. ‘‘We’re looking for an Indian chef,’’ he says.

Also in the pipeline is a film that’s set in India and produced by his company, Irish Dream Time. ‘‘I have a story outline and I think it’s doable. It’s a thriller with three acts based in Los Angeles, London and India.’’ The film’s theme, incidentally, is centered on Bollywood. ‘‘Something goes wrong in a Bollywood show and the thriller starts.’’
