Former James Bond girl Denise Richards to divorce

03-Mar-2005 • Actor News

Former James Bond girl Denise Richards is to divorce from hellraiser husband Charlie Sheen.

The news comes as Denise is six months pregnant with the couple's second child. The pair have been married for less than three years and have a one-year-old daughter - reports Sky News.

The 34-year-old actress, who starred as Dr. Christmas Jones in the 1999 Bond film "The World Is Not Enough", cited "irreconcilable differences" as grounds for the split and is preparing for a court battle to win custody of their children.

The news will come as a surprise to observers who saw the couple happily hand-in-hand at the recent Golden Globe awards and at the Screen Actors Guild ceremony.

Charlie recently told American magazine US Weekly that he couldn't wait to become a dad again, and confessed he and Denise hoped their second child would be a girl.

Court papers filed in LA showed that Denise has requested that Sheen support her and that he be granted visiting rights to the children.

Richards and Sheen, 39, met when they worked on the movie Good Advice.

She later guest-starred on his hit TV sitcom Spin City and the pair married on June 15, 2002.

Reformed bad-boy Sheen starred in Platoon, Wall Street and Hot Shots.

In 1996, he was married for five months to model Donna Peele and has a 20-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
