British school kids enjoy World Book Day in James Bond style
Children across the UK celebrated the joys of literature at a host of events to mark World Book Day on Friday.
The event aims to be a world-wide celebration of books and reading and ran in more than 30 countries world-wide last year. Scarborough's youngest pupils also had a chance to get involved in activities run by their schools.
Pupils and staff at
East Ayton school donned fancy dress with a literary theme.
One of the highlights of their day was seeing ten-year-old William Green arrive at school in an Aston Martin DB7, dressed as James Bond.
Ironically, the school's headteacher shares the name Ian Fleming with the Bond author, but came dressed as super-sleuth Sherlock Holmes.
