007 producer Michael G. Wilson to give grad talk
Harvey Mudd College's commencement May 15 could well involve bikinis, martinis and explosions. Scoring a coup, the Claremont engineering school captured a high-profile speaker: James Bond's movie producer - reports the
Daily Bulletin.
Michael G. Wilson has had a hand in every Bond movie since 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me," either as executive or co-producer or as co-writer.
So why is the London-based Wilson speaking to Mudd graduates? He's a 1963 alumnus -- but not a typical one, Mudd spokesman Don Davidson admitted.
"He's someone who went on to do things you might not expect an engineer to do," Davidson said.
Boy howdy. Personally, I'm wondering how Wilson will make his entrance at commencement. Will he roar up in an Aston Martin?
Perhaps he'll be lowered to the stage via rope ladder from a black helicopter, speech clenched between his teeth.
As for Wilson's topic, Mudd officials say that's on such a strict need-to-know basis, even they don't know.
"They still haven't chosen the next James Bond," Davidson mused, referring to Pierce Brosnan's exit. "But I don't think (Wilson's) going to be announcing it in his commencement speech."
