Sir Sean Connery helps Rangers sign star footballer
Rangers football club chairman David Murray has revealed how Sir Sean Connery played a role in the signing of Brahim Hemdani.
The former Marseille skipper was also being tracked by Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, and the German outfit looked the biggest threat - reports
The Scotsman.
But Murray asked the former James Bond actor to convince Hemdani into visiting Scotland, the plan worked, and the French defender penned a four-year deal yesterday.
Murray told the Daily Record: âItâs true I enlisted Seanâs help to sell Scotland to Brahim.
âThe German side, Bayer Leverkusen, were chasing him as well and I arranged for Sean to meet the player at Cannes Airport to help sell Scotland to him.
âBrahim then flew over and had a good look around. I am delighted to say that, after returning home to France, he then agreed to sign for the club.â
