Australian tabloids spin Sean Connery shopping conspiracy
Could Connery, Sean Connery, be striking some kind of publicity deal with Australian retail giant Westfield? The
Daily Telegraph (Sydney) seem to think so, as they concoct a conspiracy to fill the column inches:
Confidential spotted the gruff-looking Scotsman and an entourage of Americans leaving the foyer of Westfield's HQ on William St yesterday.
Just as fellow Bond leading man Pierce Brosnan spruiks Visa cards, could a tuxedo-clad Connery be doing the same for Frank Lowy's shopping empire?
Confidential thinks the ad's storyline should see the 75-year-old star wooing Eastern Suburbs stunners while drag racing Monaros across the Sydney Harbour Bridge â all just to make the Bondi Junction retail destination before closing time. Fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, Mrs Bond â Connery's wife Micheline Roquebrune â did what most visiting celebs do and enjoyed lunch with a large group, sans hubbie, at top noshery, Otto.
