Rik Van Nutter, Felix Leiter in Thunderball, dies aged 75

Actor Rik Van Nutter has died aged 75, reports the Palm Beach Post.

Rik Van Nutter was the third actor to play James Bond 007's ally Felix Leiter. The CIA agent helped 007 in the 1965 film "Thunderball".

He was born in California, USA in 1930. During the height of his career he lived in Italy and married the famous movie actress Anita Ekberg on 9 April 1963, before ultimately divorcing in 1975.

Following his retirement from acting in 1979, he lead a very private life, living all over the world and ocassionally in Palm Beach, Florida, where he resided for the final two years of his life.

Rik Van Nutter died Saturday (-All County Funeral Home and Crematory, Lake Worth).
