USA TV - Carly Simon special with 007 segment on VH1, this weekend

23-Nov-2005 • Media Alert

VH1 Classic debuts an exclusive two-hour special "The Carly Simon Special," airing on Saturday, November 26 at 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM and Sunday, November 27 at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Renowned singer/songwriter Carly Simon invited the VH1 Classic crew into her home on Martha's Vineyard for a rare and intimate interview that the network has turned into a two-hour special complete with music videos that span her award-winning career. VH1 Classic's Amy Scott sits down for an in-depth chat with Simon, covering the creative process behind her new release "Moonlight Serenade" and many aspects of her career including:

- Her dream of turning her classic song "You're So Vain" into a music video that would address one of the great mysteries of classic rock: Who's that song about?

- How Bob Dylan coached her in the studio while she made her first-ever demos.

- How she got involved in "Nobody Does It Better," the theme song to the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me."

- The inspirations behind her song "Coming Around Again."

- How her hit single "Anticipation" will forever be associated with ketchup.

- Her upcoming star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The special also includes an interview with her son Ben Taylor who, with his sister Sally Taylor, is opening for his mother on her upcoming tour. Ben shares memories of growing up in a creative household and advice that his mother gave him on writing.

In addition, The "You're So Vain" moment will premiere on Vspot, VH1 broadband entertainment network (http://www.vspot.vh1.com/) beginning Monday, November 21.
